When I back up my VAC as I let the clutch out my VAC jerks skips until the clutch is all the way out? Any ideas as to why

Do a little experiment and I think the results will surprise you.

Rig up a block behind your clutch pedal that you can rest your heel on when you let out the clutch. Engage the clutch by flexing your ankle instaed of your knee. By steadying your heel, you eliminate the reaction reflex when the clutch engages... Gene

Are you saying that it only does this when the transmission is in reverse gear but not when you're in any forward gears? Clutch chatter or poor engagement can be caused by a number of things--leaking oil seals and oil on clutch, flywheel & pressure plate, could be a flywheel surface (runout) problem, maybe a bad spring on the pressure plate--to name a few. If its only happening in reverse gear then the only thing I can think of is maybe you have some excessive backlash in the reverse gear train somewhere or maybe even some damaged/broken teeth thats allowing too much slack while operating in reverse only. That's a long shot but I can't think of anything else that would only happen in reverse.
