I am new to the sraying area. I have two srayers which I spray round up and 24d. I have noticed that there are many types of spray tips and I am confused about the different colors and what that represents. I asume it has to do with the amount of liquid applied. I now have the red hypro tips on my srayers and wondered if I should use another for different applications. Any advice would be helpfull.

Thanks

You are correct. Color indicates flow rate. As far as nozzle selection goes, I have been very happy with Tee Jet air induction nozzles. They have been great for roundup and 2-4D. They seem to have a great pattern and very limited drift. I am currently using brown nozzles on 30" spacing, 40 lbs pressure, 10 mph, = 10 gallon per acre. Even numbers like that help to keep life simpler.

Pick up a Delavan and/or a Tee Jet book. Lots of great information in either book Your dealer should have a free for the taking one.

Get a Shoup catalog- there's a pretty good explanation of what the various types are, and what they are used for.
