Went to local cattleman's association meeting last night. Held at NH dealers and service rep discussed how the NH tractors were compatible with biodiesel. Said biodiesel would clean out fuel tank and it would be necessary to change fuel filters often until the tank was cleaned of the old crud. Also biodiesel liked water and it would good to keep water drained from the bottom of the fuel filter, if tractor had a drain there.

I was interested in the Independent pto system on the new tractors so I asked about ptos after the meeting. I had seen some models on the lot with the system where you engage the pto gear with one lever and use another lever to put the pto in and out of gear. This system uses the 2 faced clutch like the MF 35 started in the 1950s except that a hand lever engages the pto instead of the 2 stage foot clutch. Basically the NH rep said NH wanted to introduce some models that size so they put blue paint on some Case IH models, since they are part of the same company. Newer models will have single lever pto which uses a new linkage to engage the two faced clutch. These tractors are made in Italy and Turkey and are aimed at "entry level" purchasers. A larger (90 pto hp) tractor has hydraulic clutch pack and is made in Doncaster, England. The bigger 100 plus hp tractors are made in Racine, WI and have hydraulic clutch packs.
Small 35 hp down compacts are made by Shibura in Japan and they have hydraulic clutch packs.

I didn't tell him but IMO the entry level tractors are WAY below the old 3000-4000 Fords IMO.

They showed a film on New Holland. One pic was of an 8n Ford pulling a v4 Wisconsin engine powered NH 77 baler. I used one for years and no way would I want to pull that 2 1/2 ton monster with an 8n!

The PTO clutch arrangement you refered to has been in use in Europe for many years.

Put it this way.... there is nothing in the NH lineup today that was in any way derived from the Doncaster plant, or the models that were produced there by CaseIH. That was spawned off into McCormick.
What they are selling today is a line of compacts... some assembled in Japan by ISM (Shibura), and most assempled in Georgia with components sourced from ISM.
The next level up is a mismash of components that is mostly of Fiat parentage with a few tough old Ford components thrown in. I'm not sure if they're coming out of Modena or Basildon.
The next step up in power goes to a basic line (TL-A) or high spec (TS-A). The TL's use (as far as I know) an independant dry plate PTO. Where it's situated, I don't know. The TS series uses wet clutches throughout. Both are now largely derived from Fiat heritage, but they've found it necessary to hang onto some Ford based transmissions.....
The TS-A is built at Basildon.... and I think the TL is a Turk.
The next series up is the TM, again largely with Fiat components, assembled at Basildon.
The TG series is based on the last of the Magnum's with some feature carryovers from the Genesis line. As far as I know, they're assembled in Racine....

To be quite honest, there isn't a whole lot in their lineup anymore that really makes me want to go out an buy one. I can't really see dropping 80 grand to get new paint on a lower spec tractor than I have now.... so I for one will just keep fixing.
