Many of the "Nigerian scams" are being run from the United Kingdom so I'd be wary. Basically, you'd be powerless to do anything about it after your "cleared check" bounces. Even cashiers' checks and postal money orders are suspect. Until they clamp down on immigrant criminals I wouldn't do business with anyone overseas.

My best advice DON"T you can get into a real can of worms from bad checks to bad shipping advice to an unknown buyer.

Hire a customs broker and let the broker do the work. Don't know how the queen looks at duty on antiques? Post back on how you done the export?

off the subject but i was told there is several LAH Cases on the bottom of the Atlantic, they were being shipped to Europe during the war and the ship got sunk by a German u-boat!

Other than making sure the check clears BEFORE you ship it, no.

by making sure the check clears you wait at least 3 weeks after the bank says the check cleared. otherwise the bank says the check cleared then comes back 2-3 weeks later and takes all the money back and more because the check bounced
