I bought a monster Air Compressor from government salvage. The only problem was it has a three phase motor. I have found a single phase motor replacement but I have a couple questions. The original motor is 7.5 HP 3 phase. It has a 213T frame and ran at 1765 RPM. The replacement motor is 7.4 HP single phase, 1740 RPM and 215T frame. Is the replacement frame compatible?

What if you put a slightly undersize pulley on the motor.

It would pump up slower, but would it work otherwise.

Like the other post says make sure its the type motor for an air compressor or it wont even turn it over.

If the single phase motor isn't a super heavy duty dual capacitor start and capacitor run high starting torque compressor rated version. The motor and you will not be happy. Is there an unloader valve on the compressor?

Looking from the side the 215T's mounting feet are 1 1/2 " farther apart. There is likely going to be a small differnece in shaft length. All else should match
