Near blizzard conditions. Snowin' to beat heck and wind blowing like crazy outside. All I can see is white horizontal and it is coming up on the coldest time of year.

I just worked myself out of a job inside here where it is nice and toasty.

Can somebody loan me their nice warm machine shed? Got lots to do yet on an old combine. :>(

Alan, I just saw your request for an old style factory pre-cleaner for your ol Gleaner. What is wrong with that R&W, in the pic of the old engine assembly you just pulled out? That R&W will clean circles around that old factory one. Your filter will be noticelly cleaner. At least the filters one our big JDs were!
Or is it just a personal looks thing? Anyway I have have been impressed by them.
Later,
John A.

Allen,
I have a shop that you can ues. All that is required is that you finish wiring it, put in the insulation, and hang the drywall. After you finish your project then it will be ready for mine.

Yup Allan gonna start in the shop in January.

I need to change over 2 1086s to 30" row wheel spacings.

Then gots to put the sprayer back on 30" also.
It was when I bought it but I had 36" rows then so I switched it.

Should be a good time to be in the heated shop.

Gary

I have a hunch somebody named Gary got a new planter recently.

Am I right?

If so, what kind did you get?

The car siding you used instead of dry wall is very clear for car siding. You just can't believe all the F gleaners stashed in sheds on small farms around Iowa. You will have a good supply of used parts during life time. The best I can do today is non rusted baling wire. Keep your stick on the ice.

Allan why don't you pull the old combine out here to California. It never snows here, we only get a fire now, and then, and some times a little shaker. Have fun Stan

You know when you put that nice shiny engine in the combine you will have to shine up the whole machine, don't ya? Looking good. Little light snow here and windy.

Hmmmmm. :>(

All the galvanized has to be bathed, cleaned and waxed. In addition, all the ironwork has to be scrapped, polished, buffed and repainted black again.

Hmmmmm m.

Whatever possessed me to tie into this project? Heck! I’m beginning to think the rumors goin' ‘round here are really true.

My Mama raised a retard just as I always suspected. :>)

Oh well, Allan, there will undoubtedly be a lot of warm, sunny days between now and wheat harvest...if not, you won't need the old gal anyway. Best of the holidays to you and yours.

What did you polish that galvanizing with?

I wish you were down here in Central MO. I would keep the stove going in the shop and just keep pushing "projects" your way.

Equal parts of elbow grease, SOS steel wool pads dipped in vinegar and automotive cleaner wax.

That "eastern" high rainfall sure does a number on metal, lemme tell ya! :>(

It will be money well spent. I hear wheat was over $10.00 in Hemingford. Better get out there and plant a couple hundred more acers.
