but its in brookville, about 3 miles from here. I am looking at an Alis B, i found it on this site. Guy says it has perfect sheet metal. Its a good price, too. It does have a stuck engine however. I can bring it home myself and do quite a bit with it. How are parts for allis B tractors, how are they to use?? Are they pretty easy to work on??

I used to drive one when I went to work for a local farmer right out of high school. Great little tractor, fun to drive. Easy to work on too. Gee I wonder what ever happened to that tractor. Think I'll give him a call.

I used to have a '41 B. I loved the little tractor. I sold it when I bought an '04 New Holland and regret it ever since....

The B sounds like a great start. They aren't too complicated and are easy to find parts for. If the price isn't too bad and you loose interest, you won't be out too much money. They can be a pretty handly little machine to have around, I have seen them fitted with snowplows and belly mowers. It won't be as handy as your Kubota, but having a second machine will be pretty nice.

I'm a John Deere guy myself, but my first tractor was a Case DO, becuase the opportunity was there. Incidentally, my second and third tractors are also Case D series tractors, because I have grown to like them and they are more affordable than the green ones. You may find the same thing with the Allis.

Yeah. That kuboda cant be beat for serious work, plowing and such, and the hydro transmission is nice too, but with a radio, power steering, Air conditioning, cab, i accually think its a little too nice....

Just a suggestion,

I know you've got the antique tractor bug BAD, and are looking to work on ANYTHING.

I suggest waiting for the "H" that you WANT...instead of buying the Allis, "just 'cause it was there." Having what you want will make it easier to stay motivated during the tough parts of the project, or through a long project...

Just saying. I bought an Oliver 70 as my first project. And, well, it's STILL a project. I lost motivation. But I've worked on quite a few afterward...it keeps getting pushed back.

Brandon

Did you ask why he spent so much time spray painting a tractor with a stuck motor?

Good little tractors. If you get it blow the cylinders out and make sure they don't have water in them and then fill them with transmission fluid and let it sit a few days. If that doesn't work then you will have to open it up. If you find you need parts I have a good number of them laying around for my 2 parts Cs but the engine in the C is the same as a B. I just built a C engine for a guy not long ago and still have a lot of engine parts on hand

If the price is right, go for it. They are a handy little tractor, parts should be readily available. Get her up and running, if you don't like it, sell it when you find an H. Good Luck, Chris

I have a model C. There isn't much difference between the two.

It's actually my favorite tractor. Incredibly easy to work on, well-built, and fun to drive.

I think the best question would be how expensive to work on or rebuild. I think old might have one of these he will probably have some insight
