i lost count because i got the tractor last thursday, so today is day 6..

Not much new today, sprayed the brake levers some more.

I have noticed while doing various things that the nuts&bolts on this thing are better made then what ive seen on newer equiptment, even if the old square bolts do get annoying after a while.

I attempted to pull the oil pan but once all the screws were off, it wouldnt pull off. The seal was broken, and it is just sitting there.

Now, is there some trick to getting this off wothout removing the front axle?? Not looking foward to doing that. The good news is once it was loose i managed to stick a screwdriver in there and remove a few screwdriver fulls of oil and found that it was just that-oil. No water, although the oil was very thick, but i am assuming thats just from sitting X number of years. Well, now what???

The pans are not all the same. They will all work on any B or C tractors but from corner to corner the pans are a bit different. What that means is that some slip out easy and other B's have to have the front swivel plate mover ahead about a half inch because of the axle swivel pin head.
If it will slip out you still have to work it corner ways getting the one back corner as far under the flywheel as you can going side ways and back along with working the front the opposite way. You will not find this in any of your manuals or books. I have pictures some where in my site.

This shows the slight difference. Not much but just enough to keep it from slipping out.

This pan came out by turning side ways without moving the front axle pivot plate. third party image

If you have the manual- read it again on oil pan. Otherwise look under with a strong light to see if you missed a bolt. chech front and rear for slight dents that might hold. Previous owner may have used gasket sealer on pan and this will hold a bit, gentle pry to loosen .RN e

no sir, its dent free, and off, it just wont come out from under the tractor. The back is resting on the flywheel houseing and the front is on the axle nut. Manuel says nothing.

If I reminder right ... when I took the pan off of my B [ wide front ] I had to take the bolt out to get the pan off... remember to have something under the tractor to hold it up... your basely takeing the front end off. may be completely wrong.... just seem to me thats what I did[ been a few years back] Just glad to hear a young man like yourself ain't afraid to get DIRTY... I got mine off, but it was a lot of trying different twists and turns to find the way off.
Putting it back on I had to have a practice run before putting the gasket etc in place to ensure that i had it right.
Keep on trying.
God Bless,
