The end comes when you wise up and buy a bag of fertilizer and some herbicide.

Increasing fees is the equivalent of taxation, but the agency can raise them without legislation, in most cases. Makes outrageous fee increases very tempting for guvment, because you have no choice in the matter. Recording of real estate documents has increased from $8 to $42 in Washington in the past 10 years. Nice to be able to just raise prices at will, with no competition to worry about.

Opposites have the same situation. Private chemical applicator license started out at about $15 for five years, then went to a three-year program, with costs up at each renewal. Either 50 or 100 now. If I need a restricted use product now, I just hire it done, or switch to what I can buy without the license. Typical gov bs. Test is more theory than being able to mix and operate. It"s all about the money, and some boneheads needing to justify their parasitic existence.

When you are either dead or broke, both lovely thoughts.
