I love the tractor, I have owned a nice 38 WC. I also lost a principal of a highschool where I taught in ohio from using concrete blocks for holding weight. If what I see under the front is a solid block, you are probably OK if it has holes, do me a favor and spend 20 minutes changing to cribbing or a stand. I know it seems paranoid, but it is life and limb and they were not ment to take weight in that position. JimN

Very, very nice. Even if its not green. A good job is a good job regardless of the color. When you get finished, be sure to post a before pic and an after pic.

Your right.Matter of fact I got oil leaking out at that very spot this very minute.I have the gas tank and toolbox on now.I had made a gasket for that oil filter holder and I made a good one for that matter,I was going to make a thicker gasket,But now I think I'm going to take a razorblade and scrape off the paint.I'm also having trouble remembering how the Gov/throttle linkage goes back together. Thanks Troy. third party image

To stop the oil leak at the filter adapter, I dress the mating surface flat with a wide file or surface plate. The surface becomes warped from overtightening. A thick gasket worsens the warpage... Gene

Looks nice and I will look forward to more pictures.

A word of caution! If you do not have tape over where the oil filter housing bolts to the engine on where the magneto seals, you will need to remove the paint in those areas. The gasket will not seal on the paint and will seep oil.
