My 1120 JD's lift arms does not have a sway bar. The lift arms contact the houseing when side to side movement is encountered. My question is there any simple way to control the sway of my equipment. I am useing a improvised forklift, with hydraulic top link on my 3 point hitch and need very little side to side movement.
Thanks for any help
Leland

I think the Ford tractors have something on their hitch like that. Check on an 8N, 9N, Ferg.TO-30, or NAA Jub.or a plain NAA. Might give you an idea if someone around you has one...

I'm not positive, but most of the non-Japanese made Deere's have removable blocks mounted on either side of the PTO housing. These blocks limit the side-to-side motion of the draft arms. They can be unbolted and rotated to change between category 1 and 2 equipment.

Numbers 17 and 18 are the sway blocks I had mentioned. They are pretty much standard on most of the mid sized John Deere tractors.

Check out some other tractors similar to yours to see what they use.Sometimes you can use chains attached to center tractor housing and to lift arms to stop some of the sway.otherwise you will need to make or buy sway bars ysed on universal three point kits.good luck..... .....
