global warming is man's way of getting mother nature back for the ice age...but it looks like momma nature is fighting back up your way!

I see from the local weather reports you guys will finally be sharing some of the rain with us.
Suppose to get a nice rain this afternoon and into the night. We do need it. Only had 2.75 inchs this month and or average is 5.5 inches. Was also down over 3 inches last month.

Now if only we could get you to share some more of the cool weather like you did a few weeks ago.
The house A/C has been turned on and I suspect the next time it will get a rest is in the end of Oct or early Nov.

About 12-15' of wet stuff here this morning, cancellations everywhere, and still blowing & snowing!!
Guess I have to put the snowblower back on just to get out of the driveway.
This is the 3rd weekend in April that we have had snow this year.
Surely brought planting to a halt.

About 3 inches of white stuff in east central MN this morning with 3-4 more predicted as the day wears on. I really don't need this!
Also, the calves I posted about the other day are doing much better and I have not had anymore get scour symptoms. I sure hope this wet snow doesn't trigger another round.

Though not a reflection of local reality, 3 inches here in central MN, The National Oceanographic and Atmospheric Administration posted today that globally march was the hottest ever recorded (world) I believe it, temps other places are off the charts. JimN

Please Google "Holocene Climate Optimum" before you place to much faith in man-made global warming.

" The National Oceanographic and Atmospheric Administration posted today that globally march was the hottest ever recorded (world) I believe it"

And just how long have we been ACCURATELY recording daily temperatures? 40 -50 years?

It"s 29 and sunny here this morn. Put 100 acres of corn in the ground a couple of days ago. Don"t know if I made the right decision or not. Jim

I have 3" snow and around 32 degrees. Monday corn was planted 1/2 mile north. Can that corn sprout in the cold damp soil?? Talking with my same aged cousin (37)last night about calves and cows, and we both recalled watching news specials as kids, in the 70's, about how another ice age was coming, how the aveage temps had been dropping every year for quite a few years, how northern states and canada would have very short growing seasons and home heating was gonna be a crisis in 20 years. We better be carefull, if we do too much to stop "global warming" we may just over do it and start the next iceage in 20 years!

We used to figure that soil temp at seed depth had to be 55 degrees for corn to germinate. If the seed sits for over a week, unless the soil is dry, it"s likely to rot. Looks a lot better in the bag right now. Hang in there- in 36 years I"ve had years of May 9 and May 10 being the first day to even start field prep. Earliest was April 6. I keep track in my account book, on crop expense page. Just started tracking final freeze-up lately.

I found that a good dose of Crown Royal helps with the anxiety of worrying about it.

I went to work at the ethanol plant last nite and the day shift guys drove their Honda cars to work yesterday!!! Both have 4x4s but saving gas. Needless to say but they both spent the nite. Roads are tuff but I made it home ok this morning with my 4x4. Jim
