Can anyone direct me to the last post/repair for a shutt-off "O" ring rebuild that was posted on the forum about two weeks back ? I have recently replaced mine on my '60 2000 with a new one and given the excellent post about rebuilding one I could use an extra by rebuilding my old one...

Thanks Gents

Take your pick. This has been talked about a lot over on the Ford board. Remember this only works for the screw driver type valve and not the flip lever valve.

I replaced the shutoff on my 600 ford, it lasted a year, then started leaking again. I went to the same dealer to get another new one, they told me they were junk and suggested that I not install another one. I did a repair on my first one, don"t use the shutoff, it doesn"t leak, so thats the way I am leaving it for now.

thought it was unusual that the parts guy said they were junk! Appreciated his honesty.

Without a shut off you will end up with all your gas in the crank case. One speck of dirt can let the float valve pass a full tank of gas.

Why I use an inline filter on all my tractors and small engines that I can fit one on.
