Where do you add hydraulic fluid for the lift on a 1953 ford jubilee? Also, do you check it with the arms up or down, and the engine running or not running.

Hydraulic fluid is added through the filler plug under the seat, off to the left (?) of center. I usually check mine with 3-point up, tractor off, but it doesn't make a lot of difference. Dipstick reads "check with all cylinders extended", which means, if you have any cylinder running off the tractor, check the oil with them extended, as that will lower the level in the reservoir. The reservoir can safely be past full, but you don't want it to be much low.

An owners manual is the best investment for answering most of your questions. How to adjust things and specifications are in the book also. Not trying to be a smarty, but it will help you alot.
