I have some Buctril herbicide that I have lost the instructions for mixing. Can someone tell me how many ounces, I need to mix per gallon of water. Your input is greatly appreciated.
Thanks. Bruce.

You apply herbicides at a given rate of PRODUCT per acre. You need to know how many gallons of water per acre is being applied by your sprayer. So it is not how many ounces of product per GALLON of water. If you cover 10 acres at 15 gpa, you put 10 acres of product in 150 gallons of water. If you apply 12 gpa, the same amount of herbicide goes into 120 gallons. Calibrate the sprayer first with water only. Rates of herbicide may change depending on formulation of the herbicide- some. including Buctril, can be in more formulations. Identify which formulation you have, and get some local advice from an agronomist.

Here is a link for most any chemical label. Just type in the brand name in the search and get all the labels and supplements. Harold

I don't know anythign about Buctril... but I'm sure that if you contaced the company they will furnish you with a new label which you should have. Quicker help may come from something like a weed/chemical guide. I don't knwo where you are but I'm familiar with the Ontario guide which publishes comprehensive chemical/weed sensitivity specs, rates, etc etc. It will have the answer you seek.

Bruce, your question is just fine. without questions, answers would go begging. We need more info, and it is probably on line from the manufacturer. The chemical formula may also tell the tale. More and more, I find responses showing the persons have little patience with people who ask questions. I find the rude answers a reflection of the responder, not the person in need of an answer. It could be the times we live in, or a bee in their trousers. Good luck finding the ratio. JimN

Without knowing how many gallons/acre your sprayer is applying, what crop you are spraying, and a host of other factors it is impossible to give an intelligent answer to a silly question. Talk to the agronomy dept at your local co-op or farm supply dealer.( or dispose of it in an approved manner). With all due respect, posing a question like this makes me wonder whether you should be applying any herbicides !!

Unfortunately, T.K, when it comes to using and applying pesticides, perfection (or very near to it) is required. Improper and/or unsafe use is both costly and dangerous. That is why more & more urban ceners are bringing in bylaws limiting the use of chemicals. There is a reason for that skull and crossbones on the label. If Bruce was offended by answer, so be it,,,but I am sure he would have felt much worse killing his crop.
