Oval: It is the same Delco alternator used on GM cars 10 to 15 years ago and may be they still use it, I 'm not up to date on new vehicles. All that needs to be done is install a 6 volt regulator. The kicker here is the only savings are on a new alternator. The supplier I bought mine from sold it to me off the shelf, for same price as 12 would be. He said one built in regulator 6 or 12 volt are same price. The problem here lies in the fact that most auto parts places would have you believe it is a major changeover. I haven't bought anything recently but if you go to google search, type in 6 volt alternator, an online listing for a company who sells these will come up. To install the alternator I just switch alternator for generator. I just weld a flat plate on top of current generator mount, put tabs up on that plate for pinning alternator. By using a double pulley as used on Olds and Buick V8s from 70s or early 80s you can use the outer pulley thus enabling you to set alternator back far enough so it can go down close to plate you welded on gen mount. When finished you have an extra wire in your tractors harness. I use that wire to hook up as an excite wire for alternator. I use a starter type push button switch for this as it cannot be left on by mistake. If left on while tractor is not running it will drain battery. If you have questions send me an e mail.

But, I want to talk about my tractor! We didn't even own a lawnmower, and all of a sudden we had enough grass to feed all the starving children of the bovine world. Naturally, I talked
