John, Take 'er out on the road and wind her up in road gear. Then just reach down and move the throttle down to an idle leaving it in gear letting the ground speed pull it down. Note if the smoke gets worse on deacceleration. If it does, then look at the rings. If on the other hand, it smokes excessevely after sitting all night and then clears up somewhat after running awhile, this points to the guides. Hope this helps, Allan
