John - So long as you got all the loose scale removed and there’s nothing blocking the passages, the engine will cool just fine with the scale that’s left. Also as long as you get only clear water out when you flush the block/radiator before assembly there’s no need to flush it again after everything is back together. Using Cat coolant + additive will work fine. Keep in mind the H cooling system was designed to work filled with untreated, muddy pond water...running Cat antifreeze will be a real treat for it!!
