Dad had both models, a 400 and 450 Farmall. The 400 had a steering wheel with the exposed steel hub where the 450 had the "fancy" steering wheel. Also there was a valve on the right side of the cowl on the 450 to switch from double to single acting hydraulic. Yes you could still have a belt pulley with the larger gas tank as our 400 had both.
