Gentlemen and Ladies, I need help. An I am not talking about the head shrinking kind either!
I have a Cub low-boy that has a hydraulic pump mounted on the engine-you know for the touch control. I recently rebuilt the tractor after it sat for 7 years. The hydraulics had always worked well, but since the rebuild I have had to add oil to the hydraulics twice. I went to use the tractor last weekend only to find out that there was no hydraulics. Hmmmm. So I checked the dip-stick and sure enough the oil level is 1" higher than full---the seal is shot on the pump and leaked all that oil into the engine. So, I took the pump off and found that there is a leather seal for the pump and it's dried up and cracked. WHERE do I find another seal? Can I buy one? Should I bored it out for a modern rubber press in seal? Anyone know what to do?
As usual, thanks for saving my blood pressure. Ron in Michigan.
