The TA goes bad in a 40, 50, 60 year old tractor, so people are stumbling all over themselves looking for a way to "eliminate" it... Makes no sense to me.
The TA lasted 40, 50, 60 years before it went bad. You are certainly not working it anywhere near as hard as it was worked before.
Replace the TA and the tractor will outlast you, your children, and your grandchildren!
However, since he already has the kit, may as well put it in. On a backhoe/loader it is going to be a BIG JOB. You really should pull the backhoe and loader off the tractor to make it easier and safer to split IMHO.
Whether you put in the kit, or replace the TA, it's pretty much the same job.
Frankly, I don't see how eliminating the TA in a backhoe/loader will devalue it much. The TA isn't much use, and most 574's didn't come with them anyway...
