My wife bought me a 1941 IHC 3-5hp LB for my birthday and I need some help working on it. I am trying to remove the 10" clutch pulley so that I can mount the engine on a Cub Cadet 86 chassis, but I can"t get the cover off of the engine. I have the LB owner"s manual and I"ve followed the steps in there. I have the small handwheel off, and the four screws out of the cover, but the cover will only move about 1/8" side to side and away from the engine. I"ve been around it a few times with a rubber mallet trying to convince it to move, but it won"t budge. The manual says it should slide right off, which hasn"t happened yet.
Do any of you have any ideas on how to get it to come off?
