The compressor on the air conditioning went out one afternoon; well okay, I can fix that later.......then the next morning I lost all power steering and the silly thing stopped moving all together. Hooked the 1066 to the disc and it just can't handle it.
Still okay, I can fix that 5488. Took me two hours to pull the hydraulic flow control valve out of her and I'm trying to repair it on the tailgate of the pickup out in the field with the wind and dirt blowing.
I'm getting stressed out as I'm wayyyy behind in my work now. Can't see the light at the end of the tunnel anymore. Went to put the hydraulic valve back together and I didn't even have a silly pair of needle-nosed pliers because that damned fire had taken all my tools.
6:15 the next morning I'm off to town as I live a long ways out. Get a $5 pair of pliers, bringing the total amount of money I've put in that tractor to $3ok plus the pliers. I'm nearing the end of my rope by this time.
On a whim I drive by the machinery dealer's lot to see if he would have a tractor I could possibly rent for a week. He's not even open yet as it's still not quite 8 am. Call his cell phone and no, nothing to rent but I can "demo" the dualed-up Massey for two days.
He had it in my yard before I got the hydraulic valve back in the 5488.
Yesterday, I knocked off at noon as I am totally caught up and just waiting on 50 acres of hay to dry. Yes, I'm rambling........
