My 38 hp 3000 will break sod with 2-16s in our heavy clay loam soil though I do have Ford's draft control system on mine which helps. It looks like your 620 is most of 45 hp. It may struggle to break sod the first year but in subsequent years will plow easier. I would at least try it for two seasons before modifying that nice plow. My plow was 3-16 when I got it but I found it was better to drop the center bottom.
