I need help getting my tractor started. I would start sometime and run great then just shut of like you turned the key off. It would not start again for days, then you would try it again and it would start right up and maybe run for 5 minutes then turn off. It has a 6 volt positive ground system. I bought a electronic ignition and hot shot coil. Still won"t start. I replaced ignition switch and all the wires. I soldered all conectors to make sure of contact. still will not start. I check the voltage coming out of the ignition switch and it is 6.2 volts going to the electronic ignition. My question is could I have a bad generator and that is my problem. I can pull the coil wire going into the distributor cap and I am not getting any spark there. I also took out a plug and held it to the frame and I am not getting any spark their either. I just don"t know if a bad generator or voltage regulator could be my problem. Please help me if you can I am running out of things to try.
