I would recommend a minimum of two chains on the front and two chains on the back Most DOT`S will want them in a x pattern,left hand front and right hand back,right hand front left hand back, with the chain binders saftied so they will not accidently open Also you should stop and check the chains after the first few miles and rebind if they have loosend This is how I do it and have never had a problem Use a good high strength chain not grandpaws old log chain
