I got a call from a farmer that has a dozer for sale. He says he has what he thinks is a Case 310 dozer for sale. Had a local company rebuild the blown-up engine, and has receipts. The serial tag is missing from the operators seat arm, but has Case tag (no s#)on frame. The Engine is a continental 260 CI gas. He thinks it is a mid 60's dozer.

I thought 310 had a small engine? I know 320 has a 148 CI continental. Can enyone help me identify what case dozer had a 260 CI Continental??? Is this a Mix of 2 dozers?? HELP???

In 1959, a Case 310 C had a 148 cu in Case engine.

In 1960, a Case 610 had a Cont. diesel eng w/208 cu in. A Case 810 had a Cont. diesel eng w/277 cu in.

Continental made a 260 cu in diesel in the same block as the 277 (also made a 300 cu in. in the same block).

The same block with different heads was used by Continetal for gas motors in many applications.

I once had a Case 310and the engine was gas, four cylinder and probably about 25 to 30 HP.
