Posting for a friend. He has broken a hyd suction hose on his 955 Cat track loader and can't find a replacement. Cat Part# 6H1100. Hose is about 2'long and 3" diameter with 2 bolt floating flange on each end. Local Cat (Des Moines) says they don't make the hose any more. He has tried local hydraulic shops and contractors but no luck so far. Does anyone know if there is a substitution part from Cat or where he might find a replacement, new or used. Any information is greatly appreciated. Thanks Steve

As Andy suggested, the ends where cut off and a new hose ($2.00/inch) was clamped on. This was done after the Cat dealer called Tech support and was advised of solution given a 1956 service bulletin.
Thanks for your help Steve

Try Empire Machine in Phoenix, I believe they are on the web and they still make hoses. www.empire.com

You can reuse the old ends. All you should need is a piece of hose the length you have. I am surprise that a hydraulic shop that makes hoses couldn't fix it for you. It is not hard to cut the old ends off and crimp them back on a new hose.

Hello,
I'd try a place in Kansas City , Missouri, called
P.H.A.S.E.. They are a hydraulic specialty shop and I've seen them solve a lot of unique replacement hose /fitting problems. I'm sure they are in the Yellow pages and by looking up Kansas City on Yahoo, then putting in the name, I think they'll be listed.
Best wishes.
