Does anyone have a power reduction pto unit for a Cletrac AG6 that they would like to sell? This is the unit that has a chain drive reduction in a box that drops the output shaft about five or six inches below the center of the hole in the housing and drops the speed of the shaft to about 600 rpm. I could also use one of these units from a BG or BD cletrac, although I would have to modify the shaft that goes inside the trans to make it work.

If you can help me out on this please drop an email to steamingd@aol.com

Thanks,
steamingd

Is it the same unit that is on the E's? If it is I have one that I would sell. Good Luck Spark

Albert,
The power reduction unit from an E will bolt up to the A. The shaft length (in the trans)is the same, but the sliding gear that engages the pinion on the end of the trans input shaft will not work. In order to use the E unit on an A, both of the gears must be removed from the E (the sliding gear AND the pinion from the input shaft). If both gears are installed in the A, after removing the original pinion from the A, then the unit will be functional, but will have a higher rpm than standard. The difference in the gear ratio is due to the slower engine speed of the E as compared to the A. I think it is about a 10% difference. This difference should not matter to me as I plan on using the unit to mow with, and will have plenty of power to spin the mower 10% faster.

Drop me an email, or reply via this board. I am going to the National Pike Days show in Brownsville PA this weekend.

Thanks,

Im have two complete E rear end units and I will be happy to pull the needed gears. Price will be whatever Landis says is fair. What do you mow? I just finished a K-20 for the National show and I am also working on an R, EHG and 550 forklift. Good Luck Spark

I think the pto situation has been resolved. I might know someone that would be in the market for a unit to fit an E tho.

I will get back to you

I'm in the process of restoring a Cletrac at the moment - in the UK.
It's very hard finding any info on them!
Can you point me to any sites which would help me?
The print on the data plate has long since faded, but the stamped numbers are as follows:

(15) (IXK3) (3 1/3X 4) (686553) (008) (006)

Can anyone shed any light on these?

Many thanks,

Bruce
