Looking at a Cat D2, the seller told me he thought it went about 8,000 lbs.

But that seemed a bit high, any know approximate weight for a 1940's model?

Thanks..

Without knowing the specific series or equipment on the D2, I'd say the 8,000 is a good average.
A raw D2, like a 3J tractor only has a stated weight of approx. 6800 lbs, without liquids or any attachements. If you add a blade, winch, liquids(of course), then you're adding to this substantially.
