An old HD7 is coming up at aution in eastern ohio. I do not know if it runs or even if the engine is locked up. Tracks don't look bad don't what year. Looks like a 3 cylinder Detroit, 11ft. blade, cylinders I think can act independent of each other. What would be the weight of this machine, might be worth only scrap price? Thanks Bob

The parts are getting hard to come by. The engine parts are out there, it is the U/C that is getting tought to find. They are a good machine. As for price dependig upon condition ect, it may go for between 1500-3000. That presumes that there is no one after the machine and wants it for collector value as was stated earlier the scrap values would easly support that value plus.

Good luck at the auction

Hi Bob,

I'm not sure what you mean by the cylinders acting independently, they are both attached to the blade. Aren't they? The HD-7s were built from 1940 to 1950, they have the 3-71 Detroit/GM diesel, and weighed 7 tons bare. Add pounds for the blade, mounts, hydraulics and any other equipment. Parts are becoming rare so if you buy it, it should be worth more as parts than scrap iron.

Lee there are two valves and two levers one on top of the other. The are close enough together to operate at the same time.
