Can anyone give me some information about an Int. 100 (series E - I think) crawler. There is one at a dealers that has been there several months - trade in I suspect. It has a 4-in-1 bucket. Salesman said he thought that the steering clutches tended to wear out on this model, true or false?? What would be a range of prices for one?
I'll add more questions if there is someone familiar with this crawler.

Thanks,
Larry

The 4-1 bucket is the drott bucket. They are a good machine but there are several gotchas on those types of machine. One is the hydrospring unit. If that is broken or damaged it is expensive to fix, around 700-1000. But what is worse if the machine was used with the spring being functional for a while and the loader was used as a loader your hudraulic valve will probably be damaged and so will your pump from the shock of the bucket going down.

It is based on the TD7 Series chasis, It was built from 1970-17 and there was a series C and E for those machines. Komatus will have some parts for them and you can still get OEM parts manuals ect for those machine. You may expect to pay around 175 for the set before you get to the hudraulic repair manaul.

Good machine. Would like to own one. I like 4-1 machine. Have the bigger 150 and the smaller 9k3 series from the 56. They are based on the TD9 Series Chasis. Check out www.ibdozing for what I have and other have in the 4-1 bucket

Value from 500-7000 depending upon condition and transmission type, undercarriage and what the dealer wants out of.

Where are you located.

The steering brake are not difficult to repair. They are pretty reliable, and may just need adjusting. You can get a service manual at Jensels at a link on this site. They don't have parts manual for the "E" series. The hyd. accumulator was optional on these and from my experience they usually didn't have one. They are nitrogen filled (no spring). The 4 in 1 bucket on E's where made by IH. The main thing with the brakes is that the lining isn"t gone and allowed shoe to wear into discs. Check suction strainer.
That can get pricey and finals will have to come off in that case.
