Just inherited a 420C with what looks to be an aftermarket front end loader. Seems to run fine but the front idlers look worn to me. Are parts still available to repair these? What kind of gas should I run in it? Should I use a lead additive in the gasoline, and finally, what is the best oil to run in her? Thanks!

Front idlers may still be available; I bought a 420C with a recently replaced idler and roller. Check with your JD dealer.

As far as fuel and lead substitutes, I'd suggest searching this board and the JD board for similar posts, so you can make your own mind up. I burn 87 octane without lead substitute.

If you look at the bottom of the lubrication table in the owner's manual, you'll see the note regarding modern oils, so you can select the correct product.
