I have a guy trying to sell me the above machine, with a U/S engine (crank chewed up). Are any parts available? Are they reliable? Is there many about, or are they extremely rare?
Any help appreciated.

Sorry I did not get to this earlier, I had to find the info on the tractor

On this tractor, there were several models,

There was the HD7G which was produced from 1961 to 1969 and the Series B from 1969 to 1974.

The first series went from S 22222 to 25177. The second series went from 27201-31335.

Part for the the B series are more readily available. The older series motor is tougher to find parts for. The 7G shared many of the UC parts from the Original HD9 and 11. I check the track iterchange book. Problem is there are no HD9/11 parts for be found for the 7 G series. Chains are readily avilable.

I have talked to one guy that owned one and wish he had kept it. Used in in New Mexico in the forests and hill. So when an HD5 came avilable he jumped on it and likes that too.

1.75 cu yds for the bucket about 24000 for Wt. Had a 344 cui naturally aspriated engine in the first series. Lift was 19400 breakout was 29600. 100 horse. In 1963 they went to the 7000 series direct injection engine. S# 23033 is the starting serial Number for 1963.

Will cc this to my board

Is it a 4 or 6 cyl. The 6 cyl was used in the D-21 220, the 70 series tractors. The 6 cyl. dont have strong enough final drives for the power it has. You should be able to find parts for either.

In the six cylinder engine model, the finals are plenty strong, however the pinion shaft that meshes to the ring gear comes out of preload and destroys both the gear and the shaft.
