Does anybody know about engin cooling? Is a suction fan or a blower fan better?

Bob- we use a blower fan on all units. Overheating is something you can partly diagnose in a few minutes. Pull cap an check for circulation while idleing. Check belt condition while engine is off, tension is critical. Check belt depth in pulleys, should stick slightly above vgroove of pulley. Overheating can also be caused by fuel timing- head gasket leaks-(may cause bubbles in water- water in crankcase) plugged radiator- top or bottom hose collapse. Overall poor condition of engine....
It is usually something real basic, or a combination of 2 things. Hope this helps..

Suction fan used in winter to draw air through the radiator and back towards operator for warmth. Pusher fan used in summer to shove air forward away from operator.
Overheating problem is probably not related to whether fan is pulling or pushing.
T-stat? Radiator internal clogging? Fins clogged?
are more likely the cause for overheating
