Idler on one side getting wobbly.1/2" in and out travel. Tracks are already split. Run it?, Re-bush it? Was told the whole thing might not cost any more than repairing what's there.

It's a John Deere 450B. Probably the same idea for both.Found some used ones but shipping costs and not knowing for sure what you are going to get may make new the way to go.

Have had to replace a few on our 450B. (assume you are talking about a Case) This seems to be a common problem with these machines. If it is wobbling too much it is probably too late to rebuild. Been there, done that.We use BERCO bottom parts.Probably better to replace than rebuild. $400 sounds about right if I remember correctly. email me if you need morehelp.

You can replace it as cheep or cheeper than you can rebuild it. If you have that much play it is most likley beyond repair. At the very least you will need a shaft, bushings, seal retainers, seals and most likley the outside seal retainers. You should be able to get a after market one for 400.00 or so. I just replaced one on a 953-C Cat it cost 400.00
