I have just purchased a 1957 420c with blade. Question is the blade is 7ft wide with hydraulic cylinders and all of frame for blade is out side of tracks, blade tilts and angles manually. i have looked in all the John Deere parts books and I am sure it is not JD. I found a picture of a holt blade tha favored it but was not exactly the same. The blade is in good shape but the cutting edge needs some help I would like to keep as close to orig. as possible

What you have is a JD model 602 Blade. According to the specs it is 90" wide (7.5'), 23" high. It was equipted on 420's, 430's, and 440's. The JD operators manual for this unit is OM-U11413U it includes the parts cataloge. I have an extra if you are intrested.

Thanks for the quick response. I will look into the 602. Since I work at a JD dealer I should have some luck finding what I need. Were the 602 blades mainly on ind. yellow crawlers? Mine is yellow but I think it could have been green. I have not sent ser# to archives to see where it was org. shipped to and what coler it was org.

I sent in my ser. number and they didn't give me the color that it was when new, and I did ask. They did tell me the year and where it was built.
