I am looking for the gear reduction box which fits inbetween the engine and trans on HG or OC-3 crawlers. Any help would be apreciated.

The creeper transmission setup can be fabricated, it's not too bad of a job. Basically, the
only component that must be purchased is a Ford Model A car transmission (3 speed). I
had no problem finding six of them this past summer; most for $25 apiece. It is the same
transmission that was used in the factory authorized kit that is so rare. The output of this
transmission has the same 1 3/16" by 6 splines that the HG and OC-3 transmission has
(which is rare). That HG transmission, by the way, was manufactured by Clark and used
in other machines into the 1960s. In general, you take your existing clutch housing, shave a piece off it, weld on a steel
plate, bolt the Ford transmission to it, and use a Model A clutch disk - which is the same
diameter as the original HG or OC-3. You can than make a special removable
dual-universal joint out of the original Cletrac parts (which can be directly replaced with
new aftermarket Model A u-joints. When all done, the transmission can be removed
quite easily, if needed. I find running the crawler with the Ford trans. in 2nd gear (or call
it 2nd range) makes a world of difference. If you want more details, just ask.
