I've been keeping an eye out for a 955-H ,It was the first one thqat I remember to have peddle stearing and power shift. but it also was the only one that had a slanted hood.all the rest after that had a flat hood. I'm looking for one to restore for my own personal use----any help out there would be appreciated Jim in N M

Just wondered where you stood in your search. I just purchased one and am in the process of overhauling it. It is a 1967 model. I need a manual to begin with. What is one worth now anyway?

I saw some old listings that you were interested in a 955H to restore.
I have one that needs chains and occassionally the booster pump pressure

for the clutch handles (its like a power steering assist pump) is losing
pressure.

I had the guy from CAT look at it and otherwise he seemed to think it
was very solid. The prior owner put new sprockets on it and the turbo
was rebuilt not too long ago. Its starts right up and sounds great.

I am just about to put the money into it for new tracks and to resolve
what ever the booster pump problem is, however, I could really use a
dozer instead of a loader.

If you have any interest, I would need $9500.00 for the machine. The
biggest problem is that it is in Cleveland Ohio so you would need to
find some economical way to transport it maybe truck to train to truck.

There arn't any out in N M due to the fact that we have so much sand,so i would have to go outside to find one. I just allways liked the "H" look with the slant hood and pedel steering and power shift. I saw one in "Heavy Equmt.Mag for 15K,but it didn't tell any info.so I'm not sure about price, but it is an older machine. I knew a guy in Ohio that bought one new in about 1970. By the way why do you like the "L" better Jim in N M

The L is much faster and more powerful. Additionally, it is much easier to operate as the operators view of the work area is better. The H is a tougher machine IMHO. Good luck with your search.

Only the last of the 955Hs had peddle steering. I have what I think is a 1963 H that I have owned for years and it has been and remains a real workhorse. Personally, I would like to have a good 955L. Just curious, how much do you think you will have to pay for a good H in your neck of the woods?
