As most know, My HD11E slung a rod. I'm considering putting a 671 Detroit in her. I've measured, and it'll physically fit with some shaft modification. My big question: What about the bolt up and use of the flywheel, clutch assy., and that area of the 11,000 series AC to the Detroit flywheel cover?

The other option is to repair the block with a hole in it, or find a block.. Any help out there???

No the parts will not interchange on that level. What you will need to do is to find the end block assembly for the the Detroit. They made several differnt sizes. Commonly referred to as like a-d if I reccollet right. The reason was to allow for different sized flywheels etc to be in there. Detroit has a set of transition rings to change the size and either step down or step out.

If you can get the match, then the only issue is to get the bolt patterns to match up. On the older HD11 with the direct drive. the 471 and the 671 could be adapted to fit the existing assembly and bolt right on.

Hope this helps.
