I know very little about diesel engines so this may sound stupid..... ..... ... recently tried to get 350B running after sitting for a period of about 8 - 10 months (?)..... installed new batteries, fuel conditioner, and new fuel. When I proceded to try to start the machine (by this I mean push the button to juice the starter solenoid) I noticed as soon as the flywheel turned (basically just bumping the starter) a sound of something metal, loose inside the engine block, It doesnt sound like a heavy (something with much mass, more like a piston ring. What could this be? Sound is in rear of block. 1 object as best I can tell.....thanx

Hey Chris, JD used what is called an isolater on there flywheel to take the place of a clutch disc, it is a series of about 6 large springs hooked on the flywheel and a metal piece in the center that actually drives transmission, you cant hear it while it's running but it sounds like something is coming out of it when bumping starter or when you cut it off after is has been running, I'm thinking this is what your hearing. Good Luck
