Does a govenor have parts that need adjusting or maintenance? When they go bad does it happen slowly or all at once? How do you know when it's bad? My T6 really struggles when you open the throttle. It hesitates and sputters before reving up. Any ideas? Thanks, Jeff

Hesitating and sputtering doesn't sound like a governor problem. More likely a lean mixture situation due to an out of adjustment or dirty carburetor. When governors go bad, the engine is more likely to overspeed, as the governor normally acts to "slow down" the engine. If the governor linkage parts have just become worn (rather than it having flown apart), the engine speed will tend to fluctuate up and down.
