Check all the easy things first on the suction side, eg suction hoses, screen as Jonathon mentioned.
You didn't happen to have any drive shaft problems with this machine did you...eg break a u joint or have a seized u joint. Right behind the seal on the torque converter output is a drain back hole on suction side of things. On more than one occasion I have seen a drive shaft break or seize and bend the output shaft. The yoke then "wobbles" in the seal allowing it to suck air. Check this closely if the other checks don't help, an output shaft bent evn .015" can cause this trouble.

...not familiar wih transmission on a case ...but sounds like you have a leak on the suction side of the transmission pump...or there is a blockage in a suction screen if it has one....thats why its aerating the oil...worsens with thicker cold oil...
