I have a 1983 D3B and I have a sensor on the engine block, right next to the oil filter that has two electrical terminals on top of it. The sensor has oil in it when removed. Does anybody know what this sensor does?

On our D3 it is not a senser it is a switch that turns on the electrical system when the oil presure comes up. and shuts down the electrical system when the engine is not runing and has no oil presure. I found this out after i changed the altenator and voltage regulator and still had no charge. so if your hour meter isn't working and no charging ck this frist.
