I have a model 160 that I picked up last summer. It had a almost dead engine. I drove a half mile home and it took two gallons oil in the engine and dumped close to 5 gallons hydraulic oil on the way. I would do it again in a minute. Every part that I have needed so far has been commonly available except the steel bushings and pins. Pins are easy to make and and you can install brass bushings they just do not hold up as long, mine is just for work around home and not commercial so this makes little differance. Torque converter can be a bit of a concern as it is hard to replace, problems show up in lack of aability to pull its own weight in road gear, but mine still works well in 1st and 2nd. Rebuilt my engine with an in frame by buying an old military unit that had been overhauled, disassembled it and rebuilt mine. Runs very good and starts on the first crank. Very well built machine, only problem that showed on my frame are the outriggers and the attachment points are weak and mine had been abused and worked very hard. The 3-53 may be underpowered for a commercial machine, but mine is very economical and I am not displeased with its abilities for my uses. I have rambled on here and could even more, but I got plenty for my 1500 dollar purchase price and total outlay now is only around 2500 hundred. If you have any question inparticular feel free to e-mail me directly.
