I have managed to get my D4 hung on the root ball of a tree that I pushed up.The tractor is at the bottom of a very steep hill making it almost impossible to back up.My tracks are off the ground. My neighbor pulled it with his 7810 JD and could not budge it.So, I called the man with a wrecker.Same result.Any suggestions that I might try?

Is the tree still atched ? if so cut the tree off , Or find someone with a dozer with winch . Work of wisdom when tree star to go over back up fast and the best way is to start the tree over the stop and back up and get the blade under the root ball and lift and push , but keep in mind that this is still hazerdious to your health unless you have a ROPS and brush gaurds lots of men have died pushing trees with a dozer.

If you have a blade with down pressure try raising the front of the Cat and place shoring under the tracks.
If the machine has to come out backwards try chaining heavy timbers to the tracks and backing up. Keeping in mind your personal safety at all times.
Be careful and good luck.

Thanks to both of you fellows for your suggestions. And yes I do have ROPS and brush guards.I had already pushed the tree over and down the hill for several yards before I got stuck.I don't really have command of the English language well enough to describe the predicament I was in.It was impossible to cut the tree off the root ball.I wish I had taken pictures.Anyway,I finally was able to pile logs under each end of the blade and lift the dozer off the stump by raising the blade. Then I pulled tree and all out from under the dozer with a tractor.I have been clearing land for 30 years and this was the worst I have ever been stuck.I guess experience is not everything.
