My D4 (Early 50's model) is pouring water out from under the fuel pump assembly. I have verified that there is no water getting into the oil. What are the possiblilties of repairing this without having to pull the engine from the tractor? What would be the best way to approach this? Is there some type of cold weld type stuff that might work? Most of all, am I wasting my time trying to repair this?

I have repaired the block on a old cat D6 with this vary problem in the same location,
depending on how severe the problem is deturmens the correct path to approch the problem, first remove the fuel pump and send me some pictures or at least more detailed info on your problem and I will do my best toward providing a lasting solution to your problem, mine involved replacing parts of the casting from a donor machine, and is still in service today (15 yrs ago) If I could get away with it, it sounds as if we can get you up and going. ***Hint*** whenever test firing a fresh new out of frame motor on straight water in early April in the midwest, don't forget to drain the water out when you are thru ----Stupid I know.
but It can be fixed.

I had the same problem on my D4. Froze engine, cracked block behind the injector pump. I pulled the pump off, welded the crack with castiron rod, ground it smooth, covered the whole thing with JB cold weld, still running after 10 years. Wish you luck, those old Cats are great.
