I have a 1983 D3B cat with dry clutches that I have just rebuilt and reinstalled in the machine. Should I completely seal the clutch compartment (side plug and bottom plug)? What would happen to the clutches if the hydraulic line broke and leak in oil the compartment? Should I drill a small drain hole in the drain plug (1/4")?

Campro, seal the top with lots of RTV silicone to keep the oil that spills there from getting in.
Seal around the brake lever housing too if you don't have a gasket for it. How were the bearings on the end of the valve spools? I think someone wrote you something from a manual on the adj. Hope you have it. I'd write more but I'm tired now.
I'll check the board again in 24 hrs.Bob
