Was traveling around the outskirts of Philadelphia, Pa. today. I was close to the AC dealer, so I stopped in to ask some questions. They told me they were no longer dealers for AC and had no service books or anything. I got in the car and started to leave. I thought,"Why not take a look in the back, never know what could be hiding in the weeds". I drove around, only new machines and a few older Fiat-Allis rubber tired laoders. As I headed my car out to leave I was stopped in my tracks! There sat a HD7 dozer! Couldn't believe it! Got out and took some pictures. As I got up closer and looked around the machine I got another shock. The machine had belonged to a Trenton,N.J. contractor I had worked for in the late 1970's. I couldn't believe it. I went inside and inquired about the machine. It belongs to Mr. Elliott. He ownes the equipment dealership! Hopefully, they'll paint in up and put it out front on display.

Just shows how things come around in full circle and I would guess it was a nice to know that 20 + years later that old HD-7 was still intact I would say that operator did not abuse that old AC being that she is still intact. I guess the HD-7 was popular in NJ because thats where I picked up this HD-7 and also jumped over the Deleware river in to PA. Jeff

The AC HD7 crawler was built between 1940 and 1950. The GM 3-71 engine had 213 cubic inches. Machine had 68 belt h.p and 57 drawbar h.p. at 1500 rpm's. Tractor weight was 14,175 pounds. The HD7 had a standard guage of 48" and the HD7W and a 63" guage. The wider guage machine was more common. Phil.
