I need the part no.s for a head gasket and sealing
rings for a IHC TD40 crawler tractor. A source of supply for those parts would be a bonus. The tractor has a 10 degree head. Many thanks.

The best place that I have found for getting parts is from S.P. Smith co. in California I would give you the town but I cannot spell it

I have a IH diesel service manual and it says that the sealing rings can be anealed and reused. I will see if I can find the book.

Head gasket = 32694DA
Cyl rings = 25090DD
Lubbock Gasket 800-527-2064
Olsons Gaskets 360-871-1207 I have no experience with these places.
Make sure the gasket & ring are the same thickness. The ring is the same as the TD-14 crawler. Let me know how you make out as I am starting my TD-35 complete overhaul. Thanks, Jere
I have alot of info on these crawlers.

The copper rings can be annealed, as stated in the post above. Clean them, heat them evenly to dull red, then quench in water and clean again prior to fitting. I had a gasket made from a modern material which does not need the "inserts" in the gasket holes (not the copper rings, you still need those). Looks ok, but I have yet to get her together.
I am restoring a TD35 also, mine is in very poor condition so I have a lot to do. Note that for the early type engines bearings are virtually inpossible to get. You can use the later type (same as TD14) by getting the block and rods bored out to fit the bigger OD. I am told TD14 rods will bolt in directly if you can source them.
Email me if you need a source of bearings. Z-Machine on Iowa has them available.
Best of luck, and let me know if you find a source of Decals.
